Scientists are ramping up their efforts to track the nutrient-rich wastewater, contaminated by the Piney Point phosphogypsum stack, that’s being dumped into Florida’s Tampa Bay, as concern remains high that it could supercharge potential toxic algae blooms, including red tide.
